Cognitive ScienceAnother interest I have is reading literature of Cognitive Science. An interest I gained after my studies in London. Truly a subject interesting and currently constantly evolving. Cognitive Science materialises in the study of five sub-sciences: Artificial intelligence, Neuroscience, Philosophy, Psychology and Anthropology. And the goal would loosely put be to gain information on how the brain works. Some time in the future it would also be nice to create an artificial brain. Personally I have devoted some time and effort to study Neuroscience and related areas. Coming from the computer world I allways believed that knowledge of detail will reveal the bigger picture. Note that there are quite interesting argumentation against this wivepoint. The claim is that it is impossible the fully understand how a advanced system works using this solution-strategy for the problem. This claim finds support in the history since each sub area of Cog Sci has not yet produced any solution. Hence the creation of the combined effort called cognitive science. |
