Life abroadAnother "hobby" of mine is living abroad. On my numerous and longer stays abroad I have learnt to appreciate the excitement of different cultures and locations. I have had the chance to stay in: London, Barcelona, Rome and Dubai. London - UKThis segment of my life was the result of a pure crazyniess. I took a brake from my current jobb to move to London. I ended up in studying Cognitive Science for a year or so. It's some stuff about the brain I think... I have to say. Not a total waste of time though. I meet a bunch of new frends and learned some fancy stuff about how us humans work. Barcelona - SpainThansk to one of my friends I could use his familys place in Barcelona during one winter. Obviously I took the chance to study some Castillano since I was there. Dubai - United Arab EmiratesThis time my stay was more professional. It was job related. I often spent my time commuting to meetings in Abu Dhabi with occasional work sessions in the Dubai office. Free time was spent often on my bike. Although Dubai is a bit hot for cycling. Rome - ItalyFeeling a bit boored I thought what the heck. I'll check out Italy. I booked a flight to Rome and went apartment hunting. Finally I found something and stayed. A stay with some studying of the Italian language and of course loads of cool cycling in the Italian mountains. Also I found some nice friends over there. I have to say. I have never regretted any of my foreign stays. Save, save, save. Then try it yourself... |
